About this study
This trial is testing if having a hospice and palliative care practitioner embedded in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) improves patient outcomes. The practitioner will provide consultations to patients based on their clinical condition and estimated risk of death. It compares patients who receive these consultations with those who don't, as well as historical data, to see if this intervention leads to better care.
